As time goes by, the Oread have traversed much of the obvious local ground for
easier walks and a certain amount of duplication is inevitable.
In the wintery period of late November it seems that there will be a better
attendance for an easy walk near to the homes of most regular walkers and so we
shall meet at 10 45 for 11am at the car park at the dead end road on the RH side
of the road leaving Brassington uphill (map ref SK 237548).
The route will skirt the village of Brassington and head for the High Peak Trail via
Pinders Rocks. Thereafter we shall head North West as far as desired before
dropping down to the road from Royston Grange. The return will be via the
footpath near Ballidon Church and the lane to Brassington Village
The distance will be in the range of 6 to 7 miles, capable of being adjusted
according to the condition of the party and the climate.
