Please join me on New Year’s Day for a 7-8 mile stroll taking in Youlgreave, Alport, Over Haddon for lunch at the Lathkill Hotel, Lathkill Dale and Cave Dale. We shall start from the car park on Moor Lane SK194645 at 11.00. This car park in now pay and display I’m afraid but there is free parking at the road junction about 100 yards west. Lunch can be taken at The Lathkill Hotel but you need to book in December before Christmas at https://www.lathkil.co.uk/menus/ 01629 812501 please mention you are from the Oread. We should be arriving there at about 13.00. There is plenty of industrial heritage in Lathkill Dale plus a connection between Over Haddon and MI6.
