Beginning at the car park west of Monyash, near the school, café and pub. Free. Grid Ref: SK150 667. Meeting at 10.30a.m. for a 10.45 a.m. start. NOTE EARLIER THAN USUAL DUE TO POTENTIAL LACK OF SPACE IN THE CAR PAK AND ROADSIDE. The plan is to walk along Derby Lane towards Arbor Low. Whilst in the vicinity, we’ll go to Arbor Low. Returning to the footpath to take us to Cales Dale, One Ash grange, then footpath towards Ricklow quarry. This brings us to the upper part of Lathkill Dale and we return to the cars via Bagshaw Dale or the road. Approx 10 km (6.5 miles), not much ascent, 512 m (1760 feet) but this doesn’t include Arbor Low. Bring your usual supplies of food and liquid and join a happy, steady walking group of OREADS.
