George Starkey Hut, Patterdale – 6-8 March

We are returning to the George Starkey Hut this March, for what is like a near annual pilgrimage, and it’s easy to see why, this is a super hut in a glorious area. There is some amazing hillwalking, low level around Ullswater, or higher level, all from the front door of the hut. March can bring all sorts of weather, there’s been snow aplenty in the past, so don’t forget your ice axe and crampons, if there’s snow on the hills. For the more adventurous, there’s scrambling, such as Swirral Edge and Striding Edge.

The hut itself is large and comfortable, it boasts a new log burner, so we should be cosy!
Twelve beds have been booked so far, there is the possibility of increasing that number. Several people have booked on the meet already and others have expressed an interest in going. In the past, people have stayed additional nights, let me know if you would like to extend your stay. It’s £12 pppn for Oreads and £18 for guests.
