We have 15 beds booked at the Fell and Rock Club’s Birkness Barn in the
Buttermere Valley in the Lake district. Located in one of the quieter valleys of the
lakes, on the banks of Buttermere we should hopefully be in time to enjoy the
beauty this valley offers in its Autumnal colours.
There is plenty of good hill walking straight from the hut. The rocks of Grey and
High crags, all within walking distance, offer some good climbing with the
opportunity for a dip in the lake to finish off the day.
