Pure Outdoor provide Courses covering all aspects of Hillwalking, Climbing and Mountaineering from their base in the Peak District.
Their course director Guy Wilson provided a superb Safety & First Aid Course for the OREAD IN 2011, and we hope to book him again for another in 2012. ( The 2011 course was so popular there was a waiting list ! )

Alter Rock is an indoor climbing centre close to the centre of Derby. There are top rope, lead climbing and bouldering areas.
At Alter Rock it does not matter if you are a beginner, intermediate or an old hand... there is something for everyone. Alter Rock's aim is to help you have fun and to push your limits! Since opening in 2008 the number of regular climbers has been steadily increasing, due to the friendly staff and quality of the routes. Members are encouraged to use this excellent local facility ! A possible members' discount is being negotiated
Grit Gear is Derby's only climbing shop. The range stocked is awesome, and the staff, who are all themselves keen climbers, are really helpful. Why drive miles, when what you need is right here in Derby? Members are encouraged to shop at Grit Gear, where, upon production of their membership card, they will receive a discount.
