This year I have decided on a short walk around the Berwyns. We shall be starting from the village of Llangynog at the head of the Tanat Valley G.R. SJ 053262. This village is about 10 miles S.E. of Bala as the crow flies. It is a popular venue for day trippers and holiday makers during the season, though I hope to find it fairly quiet in December. There is a free car park in the middle of the village and just a few yards away is the Tanat Hotel on the other side of the road. I shall be in this hostelry around 9 o`clock on the Friday evening for the customary few beers with those rash enough to join me before we set off to bivvy under the night skies. Saturday will find us making our way over hills and through woods, passing pubs [if you can] until we arrive in dribs and drabs at a bunkhouse that I have booked. This bunkhouse is The Coach House Bala, Tomen-Y-Castell, Llanfor. It is approximately 1 3/4 miles N.E.of Bala on the A494. We have the entire place to ourselves and it will cost you £9-50 for the night. Sunday will find us trudging back over the hills to Llangynog.
See you there. Derek.
The annual Black Rocks Meet will take place on Wednesday 17th December - with the usual fun. Details next month.

The winter indoor slide lectures will take place on the first Tuesday of each month at 8:00 pm in the Royal Oak Ockbrook.
